A little gem I found on my last day in Canterbury, the most lovely and authentic Thai experience I’ve tried so far in Europe! 5 stars for the courtesy and excellent service would defo recommend for Asian food lovers
Amazing Thai food! They have a good selection of delicious Thai dishes - our favourite was the battered prawns in red curry sauce (Goong Choo-Chee), a perfect combination of crispy fresh prawns with tasty creamy curry. They also serve wine and whisky from Thailand. The atmosphere is amazing from the richly craved tables to the rattan interiors, you feel transported to a Thai house faraway. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I would come back to Canterbury just to eat here again.
First time here this evening and everything was on point. Lived in Thailand for 11 years; so I’m Always skeptical as where to eat authentic Thai in the UK. Great experience. No messing around with the spice when it came to the Laab Gai. Plenty of Chang. Perfect staff 10/10
I visited Bangkok House on Sunday 24 November 2019 in the evening. I was with one other person. This was my first visit. I used Google Maps to find the restaurant, which was easy and led me straight to the right place. The restaurant comprises of one fairly large sized main dining area segmented in to a couple of different sections with plenty of tables with full table service. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with carved wood features and plants. The tables are glass topped with impressive hand carved wooden decorative designs underneath. The team were very friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and enjoyed the experience. I enjoyed a chicken satay starter and sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice for my main course - I'm not very adventurous, sorry! The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted good. There was an extensive selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. The food was very good value for money, I paid less than £25 for the two courses and drinks. Overall I enjoyed my visit and would come and visit again.
Lovely little hidden gem in the centre of Canterbury, Kent. If you like Thai cuisine then this is the place to go. Very welcoming and traditional setting will be waiting for you. Loved our visit and will definitely return when back in the area.
